January #1- First Week of school

Finally, whether I like it or not, school has started. After more than a month of holidays, I am reluctantly coming back to school. To make things worse, everyone's already started talking about SPM. I know it's coming and time is going to fly fast, so I have decided that I'm going to work extra hard to achieve excellent results. I even got my daily timetable prepared so that I can divide my time perfectly between sports and studies.

With the MSSD Hockey tournament coming really early this year, around early February, me and my brother Mandeep, had started training with aims not only to lead the school team to become champions of the district but also to be called up to play for the Petaling Utama squad in the MSSS Tournament held at the Bukit Jalil National Hockey Stadium from 15th to 17th February. We started to play a lot of more tournaments with our own club -not with the school's club- and friendlies with senior teams to gain experience and improve our game.

We consider this to be a stepping stone for us in furthering our passion to enjoy and play this sport, and if all goes as planned, Mandeep and I will be going for selections to play for a team in the Malaysian Hockey Junior League next year.

We have the same dream, that is to play for Malaysia some day, and I believe this can come true if we train and practice hard enough. However, we are not of those people who sacrifice their studies to play sports as we believe that without studies, one cannot go far in life. We work hard to be all-rounded students and that means we have reallly little time to sit back and watch television or even surf the internet. I sincerely believe in the adage 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy' and can't argue to how true it is.
